Kunzum La ..Contd.(Kinnaur)
After Tiuni the We rode my the side of the Tons river to reach Rohru.
Here we filled petrol in our bikes and headed towards Sungri. Sungri is a small village on the way to Nogli ( in the way to Rampur). At Sungri , when I was making a call to my mother from a PCO the attendent was very excited hearing Bengali. He called out for Biswas Babu and here came Dr. Biswas . Long ago this man came here as a tourist and enchanted by the beauty of this place he decided to stay here for some time . And he still lives there away from the hustle and bustle of Kolkata serving the beautiful people there from the nearby villages . He took us to his clinic /medical shop where he offered us to have some eatbles . But , we had to reach Karchham by evening and a long way to go, so we decided to leave .
As we rached Nogli to meet the Highway (NH22) we were pretty releived to find a clear and wide road ahead. At Rampur we halted for some time and then decided to have lunch in Hotel Mahesh. Me and SKD had already visited Nathpa Jhakri Hydeoelectric Project during our training period in BHEL. So, we were familiar with the place. After a good lunch we started for Sarahan where the famous Bhimakali temple is located. This wood sculptures and the architecture of the tample is very beautiful and rare to this region. The deity stays in the top storey of the temple building where the devotees coming from all over Himachal and around come to pay homage to the Goddess.
Then we staterd for Wangtu .The road here looked like a marvel as if it has been scoopede like ice-cream from the rocky mountains giving a breathtaking view to travellers.
We stayed in Tapri that night in a room in an office building as no accomodation was available there in PWD rest house.
