Recipe for Mango Tango Pickle- Companion for a Winter Afternoon in leisure

While we all cherish the memories of our travels to places  and the food we eat there, sometimes we also like to stay home and relax in the winter afternoon sun and bask in the sunshine. A plate of tangy mango pickle is a surely good way to spice up the time spent in leisure. When the mango season arrives, our mango tree provides plentiful of raw mangos. Unable to control the incessant supply, we regularly try to preserve the flavor by making pickles. One of our favorite is Mango tango pickle made by our Maa.  I tried to jot down the way the pickle is prepared in a simple way.. Hope you like it..  Ingredients : Take mangoes unripe..  10 pieces approx... Trip to Naukuchyatal, Nainital , Almora and Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary from Haridwar ( November 2020 )

 Trip Itinerary of Haridwar – Nainital- Binsar trip  ( November  2020 ) Day 1:    We started from Haridwar early morning in a Cab. The weather was fine and sunny.   We took the Rudrapur road as our taxi had to take CNG on its way to Naukuchiyatal. As we reached Kathgodam to found that the road via Bhimtal is closed for repair works. So, we took the longer route via Nainital to reach Naukuchiyatal by early evening.   At the KMVN Tourist rest house , we booked   a Semi Deluxe room overlooking the beautiful lake and garden. There was ample space for parking the car and due to pandemic only a few rooms were occupied.   A winding road takes one all around the lake where several residential houses and Hotels are there. Even the Club Mahindra and many boutique hotels have open in Binsar which speaks of itself the prominence of the Naukuchiyatal for travel lovers. Road Trip to Shimla from Haridwar

Day 1: 15th August, 2015 This Independence Day, on 15 th  August 2015, we set off towards our holiday destination Shimla at 8.30 am in the morning. I had booked a driver to accompany us in our 3 days  trip from Haridwar to Shimla. Shimla is a hillstation located in Himachal Pradesh in the Hindustan Tibet road or NH 22. It is around 290 kms from Haridwar by road if we take the Saharanpur- Yamunanagar- Jagadri- Panchkula route to Shimla. It was our first family road trip to the Himalayan State Capital. What more, we had Rishim to accompany us this time. Our hearts were filled with excitement and anticipation for a fun filled holiday. The driver Babu, was a jolly fellow who would share is road trip experiences of and on during the drive. He was a sensible and and courteous person. Madhyamaheshwar trek

Moving through Rishikesh, the bus took the NH and reached Devaprayag , the confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers, at 9.45 a.m. There we had breakfast of paranthas and chole. Crossing the river Bhagirathi the bus started towards Rudraprayag and reached there at 12.30p.m. After a 1 hours stop at Rudraprayag we again started for Kund at 1.30p.m. At 2 p.m. we alighted at Kund near the bridge over the river Mandakini. There we took a shared jeep which took us to Ukhimath . Luckily we found a bus waiting for passengers for Uniyana village. We loaded the luggage in the bus and finally started for Uniyana at 3.00 p.m. In the bus we found some friendly passengers and enquired about Ransi and the path to Madhyamaheshwar. Trip to Chaukori

This is one trip we di d in August 2008. Me with friends Saugata, Rakesh and Majhi decided to do a trip to Chaukori, a small hill station in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. Chaukori, at a height of 2010 m above sea level, offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas range from particularly the snowy peaks of the Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot. First we purchased a Nest & Wings Map of Kumaon which has extensive information about everything a tourist wants for a successful trip. We started the 14th of August 2008 by the Midnight train Kathgodam Express from Haridwar. Reaching Kathgodam we decided to start our journey early and took a cab to Almora. By the time we reached there it had already started to drizzle. There we had very good food in a Punjabi Dhaba and started for the next leg of the journey.
